Missions

Belarus

One of the key events in the Congregation's history occurred in Rosica, Belarus, where Fr. Anthony Leszczewicz, MIC, and Fr. George Kaszyra, MIC, were martyred by the Nazis in 1943. Both men were declared Blessed by Pope John Paul II in 1999. Today, the Marians are struggling to raise funds to rebuild the church the Martyrs spent their final hours in. In this extremely poor country, several priests from the Polish (Divine Providence) Province, along with the local Belarussian Marians, serve in over ten parishes. They also offer retreats, catechism in schools, and operate a Shrine devoted to the Marian Martyrs.
