Rome, April 30, 2012
Prot. No 72/2012
I wish to communicate that on March 30, 2012, the Apostolic Penitentiary granted to members of the Congregation of the Marian Fathers in perpetuum (Prot. No 1279/11/I) the opportunity to gain on May 18th – the liturgical commemoration of Blessed Fr. Stanislaus Papczyński – a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Holy Communion, prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father), while making, at least privately, a renewal of their pledge to faithfully fulfill all duties resultant from their Marian vocation.
I also wish to remind the members of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary that – by the rescript of the Apostolic Penitentiary of February 2, 1968 – they were also granted in perpetuum the opportunity to gain a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions on the following days:
I. | For the entire Congregation: |
– | on the Solemnities of the Immaculate Conception of the Most B.V.M. and of St. Joseph, the Spouse of the B.V.M.; |
– | at the celebration of the General Chapter. |
II. | For individual religious houses: |
– | on the feast day of the main Patron of that house; |
– | on the liturgical commemoration or the feast of a Saint or a Blessed, whose body or a significant relic is being preserved at that house; |
– | on the canonical visitation at that house (either Provincial or General). |
III. | For individual members: |
– | on the day of entrance into the novitiate; |
– | on the day of their first religious profession; |
– | on the day of their perpetual profession; |
– | on the 25th, 50th, 60th, and 75th anniversary of their first religious profession. |
Please make this communiqué, along with the text of the appropriate decree, known to all of the members of your Province or Vicariate.
