Fr. Jan M. Rokosz, MIC, former Superior General and the eldest member of the Chapter, was the main celebrant. In his homily, he referred to the elections &#8211; foreseen for today &#8211; of the new Superior General and encouraged everybody to listen to the voice of God, who is love that bends over human weakness and frees us from our deafness and muteness.<\/p>\n<p>Fr. Jan M. Rokosz, MIC likewise presided over the election session. As a result of the election, a new General Council was elected, with the following members:<\/p>\n<p>Fr. <strong>Joseph Roesch MIC<\/strong> &#8211; Superior General (from American Province)<\/p>\n<p>Fr. <strong>Tomasz Nowaczek MIC<\/strong> &#8211; Vicar General (from Polish Province)<\/p>\n<p>Fr. <strong>Jovanette Vieira MIC<\/strong> &#8211; II General Councilor (from Brazilian Province)<\/p>\n<p>Fr. <strong>Wojciech Jasinski MIC<\/strong> &#8211; III General Councilor (from Polish Province)<\/p>\n<p>Fr. <strong>Zbigniew Pilat MIC<\/strong> &#8211; IV General Councilor (from Polish Province)<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon, the work in committees began, as these will evaluate the proposals prepared by the previous General Council or sent by the local Chapters or individual confreres.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening, during solemn evening prayer, the new Superior General as well as the members of the new General Council made their profession of faith and the oath of fidelity connected with their offices.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fr.
