Symposium will honor Blessed George’s Anniversaries
On October 23, 2002, a symposium dedicated to Blessed George Matulaits-Matulewicz will take place in the Assembly Hall at the University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski, in Warsaw, Poland. The symposium will commemorate the 100th anniversary of his Doctoral thesis, the 75th anniversary of his death, and the 15th anniversary of his beatification.
Entitled, “For it is love that I desire, not sacrifice” (Hos 6:6), the symposium is organized by the General Postulator of the Congregation of Marian Fathers, the Department of Spiritual Theology of the University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski, and the Congregation of Sisters, the Handmaids of Jesus in the Eucharist – one of the congregations of women religious which the Blessed founded.
The main topic of the proceedings will be the problems associated with bringing love into the dialogue among faiths, religions, and nations, according to the theological thought of Blessed George Matulatis-Matulewicz.
