On October 28, 2008, the Vicar General of the Manila Diocese in the Philippines, Msgr. Josefino Ramirez, was inducted into the Marian religious community by a special liturgical rite prescribed for such an occasion. The ceremony, presided over by Fr. General Jan Rokosz, MIC, took place during the solemn Vespers celebrated in the chapel of the Marian House in Rome.
Msgr. Ramirez is in charge of The Divine Mercy Apostolate in Asia and Oceania. In addition, he fulfills the duties of the rector of the Archdiocese Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Manila, Philippines.
After the vespers, Msgr. Ramirez received from the Superior General a painting of Bl. Stanislaus Papczyński as a token of Marians’ gratitude for all his help in establishing the new Marian mission in the Philippines.
By joining the Marian Fathers, Msgr. Ramirez became the fifth member of the Marians’ associate clergy.
