On 31st of May, 2024 three Marian Brothers, Maria Selvam, Sesu Raj and Suresh Kumar, made their final consecration in the presence of the Superior General of the Marians Most Rev. Fr. Joseph Roesch, MIC who also presided at the Holy Eucharist. It was a joyful and unforgettable event. The ceremony took place in Divine Mercy Seminary in Karumathur – Tamil Nadu. On the same day, ten of our brothers renewed their temporary vows for one year. The young Marian Community in India felt so proud and happy at this beautiful and historical event.
Priesthood is nothing but the love of the Heart of Jesus, and a special call to be the minister of Jesus Christ in His Church. On the 1st of June, 2024 Deacon Francis Paul had his priestly ordination in his home town at 5:30 pm. The holy Mass began with the procession led by the local pastor. The ordination was conferred by the Most. Rev. Stephen Anton, Bishop of Tuticorin. Among many con-celebrants was also Superior General of the Marians Fr. Joseph G. Roesch, MIC, General Secretary Fr. Zbigniew Piłat, MIC and Fr. Jan Migacz, MIC, superior of the Marians in Sri Lanka.
On the next day 2nd of June, 2024 the newly ordained celebrated his first Holy Eucharist at St. Thomas Church in his hometown, Vambar at Tuticorin.
And finally on the 3rd of June, 2024 at St. Claret Church in Karumathur four of our brothers, Maria Selvam, Manoj Xavier, Sesu Raj and Suresh Kumar, were ordained as Deacons. The Holy Eucharist began at 10:30 am presided by the Most. Rev. Susai Manickam, bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Sivagangai. Again among many con-celebrants was also Superior General Fr. Joseph G. Roesch, General Secretary Fr. Zbigniew Piłat, MIC and Fr. Jan Migacz, MIC, superior of the Marians in Sri Lanka. The ceremony was attended by many family members of newly ordained deacons.
Every event was perfectly organised by the local Marian Community. May the Lord continue to bless this young Community of the Marians on the Asian continent.
