On July 16 of this year, the day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, three of our Vietnamese confreres, John Baptist Nguyen Van Bien, Peter Nguyen Tien Dung and Peter Nguyen Van Ha. Superior General Father Joseph G. Roesch, MIC, who at the time was conducting a general visitation of the Vicariate of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Vietnam, received their perpetual vows in the Congregation of Marian Fathers. The vow ceremony took place in the chapel of the formation house in Saigon during a solemn Eucharist presided over by the superior of the Vicariate, Fr. Boguslaw Gil, MIC. In addition to the visitors from Rome, our Vietnamese seminarians were present, as well as invited guests: local priests, nuns and family members of the three newly perpetually professed. A total of 140 people were in attendance. We entrust to Divine Providence and the intercession of Mary Immaculate these three of our confreres, so that they may persevere to the end of their days on the path of the Marian vocation following the example of our Father and Founder St. Stanislaus of Jesus and Mary Papczynski.
