On August 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA, five Marian novices from the American Province made their first annual vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience before the Superior General of the Congregation of Marian Fathers, Fr. Joseph G. Roesch, MIC, who had traveled from Rome for the occasion.

Our newly professed brothers are: Benjamin, Marciano, Wolfgang, Joseph, and Father Scott.

Together with Father General, a number of priests concelebrated the solemn Mass, including the Novice Master of the American Province, Fr. Stephen Castellano, MIC. We entrust our new confreres to the care of Mary, Immaculately Conceived, and to the intercession of our Father and Founder, St. Stanislaus of Jesus and Mary Papczyński.

On August 22, when the Church honors the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the American community of Marian Fathers celebrated the joy of the diaconate ordination of one of its members—Brother Stephen Camara, MIC. The sacrament of ordination was conferred by the auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Hartford, CT, His Excellency Fr. Juan M. Betancourt.

Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, Superior of the American Province, who was present at the ceremony, announced that Deacon Stephen’s new place of ministry will be the nearby Parish of St. Mary in Lee, MA. He will also continue his service as assistant provincial secretary in Stockbridge. We entrust Deacon Stephen’s new ministry in the Church to the special care of the Patroness of the Day, Mary – Queen of Heaven.
