On Saturday, May 24, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Lichen, the Congregation of Marian Fathers experienced a special event – the ordination to the presbyterate of Deacon Janusz Wiczarski, MIC. In the presence of his family, confreres, pilgrims and under the tender gaze of Mary, Sorrowful Queen of Poland, he was ordained to the priesthood. The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Jacek Grzybowski, auxiliary bishop of the Warsaw-Praga diocese.
After eight years of formation, ready to serve and fulfill the charism of the Marian Fathers’ vocation, Fr. Janusz Wiczarski, MIC, definitively responded to the voice of the Lord. During the liturgy, in the presence of the entire community, he expressed his will to be ordained and his readiness to fulfill priestly ministry in the Church. During the singing of the Litany to All Saints, it was asked that he become a servant according to the Heart of God. Fr. Michael Kozak, MIC – the uncle of the newly ordained – took part in the ceremony, specially arrived from London.
On June 1st Fr. Janusz celebrated his first Holy Mass in the home parish of Exaltations of the Holy Cross in Grudziądz. Congratulations and we wish him a fruitful and fervent ministry.
